The Creative Suite conference is coming up at the Chicago City Center May 18-20. The conference offers sessions on all the Adobe Creative Suite apps. All the usual suspects will be there, including Michael Ninness of lynda.com, Ben Willmore, and David Blatner on Photoshop-related topics. Mordy Golding, who is speaking at the conference, has posted a coupon code on his  Real World Illustrator blog that will get you a deal on the registration fee.

Boy, these Adobe guys sure know how to bait: check out the inaugural post at Nonprofit @ Adobe. It sounds like the company has put together a Nonprofit Team that will be offering eSeminars, a nonprofit pricing program and the obligatory software tips and tricks.

That one post is all we get for now though. If you have anything to do with the worlds of nonprofit and design, I think Adobe just gave you something else to bookmark.

Photoshop World 2006 in Miami is rocking on as we speak. You can hear the full keynote on the March 22 episode of the Inside Mac Radio podcast [iTMS link] complete with:

• goofy skits by The Photoshop Guys,
• an overview of what's happening at Adobe by Adobe Marketing VP Deb Whitman,
• a sneak peak of as-yet-unreleased Build 3 of the Adobe Lightroom public beta by Adobe Evangelist Julianne Kost,
  
• a demo of new image forensics technology from Adobe Labs,
• announcement of 24 nominees to the 2006 Photoshop Hall of Fame (winners to be announced at Photoshop World Las Vegas in September), and
• presentation of the 6th Annual Photoshop World Guru Awards (including Best of Show winner Eduardo Rizzo).

Photoshopsupport.com features an interview with Thomas Knoll, co-creator of Photoshop, and Ruth Knoll. Much of the interview concerns the third annual Photoshop Soup2Nuts conference, scheduled for June 23-24, 2006 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The mission of the Soup2Nuts conference is to raise funds for digital imaging education and technical training for those who are economically limited. It features workshops and presentations by Photoshop and digital photography experts, including Ben Willmore, Bruce Fraser, Doug Elbinger, James Partridge, Jeff Schewe, Katrin Eismann, Scott Kelby and Seth Resnick. Attendees will also have the rare opportunity to talk with Adobe's Thomas Knoll, Marc Pawlinger, and David Story.

Ray Robertson, of Scripting Matters fame, will be leading "Automating Adobe Creative Suite 2 with AppleScript," a three-hour, free seminar covering - you guessed it - how to use applescript to automate Creative Suite.

From Scripting Matters' site, it sounds like Ray is a one-man applescripting machine with clients ranging from small business to large corporate. While the seminar - including a CD with example scripts - is free, registration for the March 23rd event is required by email. Check out Scripting Matters' press release for more information.

Registration is $699, but early birds save $100 before April 7th, and there are also discounts for students, NAPP members, educators and groups. As always, my attendance will be limited to reading about the event on the internet, and perusing any Flickr sets that might crop up. With the names and scheduled workshops though, this sounds like it will be quite the big bang for a first time event.

Adobe yesterday announced collaborations with a number of partners to add new services for use with Photoshop CS2.  At the Photo Marketing Association conference in Orlando Adobe revealed partnerships with:

• Hewlett-Packard, which has developed a new professional photo printer with a plug-in for Photoshop CS2. The plug-in synchronizes color management between Photoshop CS2 and the printer driver.
• Logitech, which is making the NuLOOQ Navigator, a new kind of navigation device for use with Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign CS2 on the Mac.
  
• Lexar, which has developed a plug-in memory card for Adobe Bridge that will allow users to download images from multiple cards at the same time and add metadata to those images.
  
• MorePhotos.com, which offers photographers an online service for uploading photographs from Adobe Bridge for customers to proof and purchase.
  
• Iron Mountain, which will provide an online photo backup service to protect against loss of digital photos. This will be a subscription service for that will allow photographers to backup not only their photographs, but also financial documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and other documents.

Get your notepads and your outlining apps ready, cuz the seminars are 'a comin'. First up is the Adobe Photoshop Seminar Tour, which I noticed has been in the Photoshop TV link list for a little while now (Being that I still owe for tuition this semester, I don't even have the cash to think about attending most of these things). This tour series breaks down into three specialties, namely: Power, Photography and Creativity tours. Looks like registration for each seminar runs $99, and they just might be on their way to a town near you.

Next up is the Adobe CS2 eSeminar Series, clocking in at the student-friendly price of 'free.' From the seminar overview site:

The three-part online eSeminar Series kicks off Tuesday, February 21st at 10 AM EST, with consecutive sessions on Wednesday and Thursday, the 22nd and 23rd. Since I conveniently have class during all three of those sessions, I'll post a reminder on those days in case anyone wants to share their impressions.
